KIN Innovation Academy
Build the capabilities behind Innovation Excellence.
KIN Academy is where understanding becomes capability. Not a course catalogue — a structured learning environment built on real frameworks, applied in real organisational contexts, and connected to KIN's wider innovation ecosystem.
What the Academy is for
Capability you can see, apply and evidence.
Innovation readiness requires more than awareness. It requires people who understand how innovation works in complex organisations, who can read the conditions that enable or block it, and who can act with strategic intent. KIN Academy builds that capability layer by layer — drawing on research, frameworks and practice from across the KIN system.
Knowledge architecture
Three knowledge pillars. One standards backbone.
The Academy is built on three distinct knowledge traditions, unified by the ISO 56000 series as the shared framework that makes capability provable.

Liv Cardell · RM3
Organisational Conditions for Innovation
Drawn from Liv Cardell's RM3 (Red Matters 3-ology) lens, which frames innovation as a balance between Structure, Culture and Development — and helps organisations read the human dynamics that determine whether innovation actually takes root.
- Structure, Culture and Innovation
- Reading organisational patterns
- Culture as a condition
- Leadership across Blue, Red and Green
- Human dynamics and change
RM3 is Liv Cardell's framework. It is one important organisational lens within the wider KIN system.

Building Organisational Capability
KIN's integrated model for turning strategic intent into organisational capability — mapping the gaps, designing the conditions for agency, closing feedback loops, and connecting human capability with AI-enabled tools.

ISO 56000 series — the standards backbone
The international foundation that runs across the Academy
ISO 56000 provides the common language, governance logic and measurable framework that threads through every Academy pathway. It is not a separate faculty — it is the backbone that makes learning transferable, provable and internationally recognised.
How learning works
From insight to evidence — and back.
Learning in KIN Academy follows a loop that keeps knowledge connected to action, and action connected to measurable progress.
01
Learn
Build understanding through frameworks, research and examples.
02
Apply
Use what you have learned in your own organisational context.
03
Evidence
Capture what you have done, observed and measured.
04
Assess
Reflect on progress. Use the Innovation Pulse and Innovation Index to locate your current position.
05
Improve
Return to the loop with new questions, sharper focus and better evidence.
Connected to the KIN ecosystem
Academy as part of your innovation system.
KIN Academy is not a standalone tool. It is one part of a connected system designed to turn innovation readiness signals into real capability.
Signals and capability gaps
Innovation Pulse
Identifies where you are and what to develop next.

Learning pathways
Three pathways. One direction.
Each pathway has its own entry point, knowledge base and progression — but all three converge on the same outcome: an organisation that can innovate deliberately, repeatedly and verifiably.
Pathway 01
Innovation Leadership
Christer Windeløv-Lidzélius
For leaders and strategists who want to understand innovation as a systemic capability — not an event, not a department. Covers the theory, the uncertainty, the strategy and the organisational conditions that make leadership for innovation meaningful.

Pathway 02
Organisational Conditions for Innovation
Liv Cardell · RM3
For people working on culture, structure and the human side of organisational change. Uses the RM3 lens to help you read organisational patterns, understand what enables or blocks innovation, and design better conditions from the inside.
Sample modules

Pathway 03
Building Innovation Capability
Deana · KIN Capability Architecture
For those working on organisational capability from a systems perspective. Connects strategic intent to capability design, helps you identify gaps, create conditions for agency, close feedback loops and integrate human–AI collaboration.

Common questions
What is KIN Innovation Academy?
KIN Innovation Academy is a structured learning environment designed to help people build the capabilities that sit behind Innovation Excellence. It draws on research and practice from three knowledge traditions — Christer Windeløv-Lidzélius on innovation and complexity, Liv Cardell's RM3 framework on organisational conditions, and KIN's own Capability Architecture — unified by ISO 56000 as the standards backbone.
How does the Academy connect to Innovation Pulse and the Readiness Hub?
The Academy is one part of the KIN ecosystem. The Innovation Pulse identifies capability gaps and readiness signals. The Innovation Index shows your overall picture. The Academy builds the capability those signals point to. The Readiness Hub captures your actions, evidence and improvement over time. Each layer feeds the next.
What is RM3, and who created it?
RM3 (Red Matters 3-ology) is Liv Cardell's organisational lens for understanding innovation as a balance between Structure, Culture and Development. It helps practitioners read the human and organisational patterns that determine whether innovation actually takes root. It is one important lens within the wider KIN system — not KIN's entire culture model.
What are the three Academy pathways?
The three pathways are Innovation Leadership (grounded in Christer Windeløv-Lidzélius's work on innovation, complexity and strategy), Organisational Conditions for Innovation (using Liv Cardell's RM3 lens), and Building Innovation Capability (KIN's Capability Architecture, led by Deana). A fourth standards overlay covers Innovation Management Systems and ISO 56000, running across all pathways.
Is the Academy available now?
The Academy is in its first phase — the structure, curriculum architecture and knowledge framework are defined and public. The full learning environment with modules, learner dashboard, progress tracking and evidence submission is being built. Contact us to stay informed or to discuss early access.
The KIN working view
Different questions. One connected system.
Learning builds skills, but organisational capability also needs the conditions to use them. Explore the capability and readiness guides, then use the assessment to identify questions for your learning priorities.
- Organisational abilityCapabilityCan we create new value repeatedly?
- Current system preparednessReadinessWhat is in place for the challenge ahead?
- Diagnostic and comparisonPulse / BenchmarkWhat do our responses suggest?
- Management backboneIMS / ISOHow is innovation directed and reviewed?
- Sustained outcomeExcellenceDoes capability keep creating value over time?
Read this map from organisational ability to sustained outcomes, not as a strict linear process. Evidence and learning feed back into every part. A diagnostic does not prove capability, and a management system does not guarantee excellence.
